Agnes Christina Leon, a resident of the MacGillivray Guest Home, formerly of York St., Sydney, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Trenton, NS, she was the daughter of the late Hughie and Anna Belle (Dunn) Burns.
Agnes was a member of Sacred Heart parish and a former cub master at Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends at her summer residence in Hillside Mira.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Wilfred ‘Bill’; daughters Carolyn (Frank) Schilte, Tampa, FL and Elaine (Michael) McGrath, Sydney; son, Jim (Dianna), Deep River, Ont.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, Agnes was predeceased by her five sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
