SMITH, Dorothy Louise ( nee Warren ) (August 23, 1942 – January 5, 2012) — Dorothy Louise Smith (nee Warren) of Chance Cove, aged 69 years peacefully travelled the final leg of her journey home and met with her Eternal Father on Thursday, January 5, 2012. Leaving behind with great sadness, her husband of 50 years, Winsor Smith, the love of her life, to whom she was truly one. Leaving to mourn, with many beautiful and inspiring memories are her four daughters who were to her “like olive shoots around your table,“ Marie (Paul Rowe), Daisy Smith, Margie (Lorne Thorne) and Rita (Gerard McCarthy). Her life was blessed abundantly through the joy of being a grandmother to Grant Rowe (Suzanne), Paulette (Colin Ralph), Adam Rowe, Luke Thorne (Leah), Jessica (Michael Branton), Andrew McCarthy and Christopher Ralph. This love and joy extended into being a great-grandmother to Alexis and Rebecca Ralph, Roman and Maren Thorne and our latest addition John Rowe. She is also lovingly remembered by her two brothers, Eric Warren (Rosalind), DavidWarren (Mary), sister, Annie Newhook (Donald), as well as a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Our mother lived out fully her vocation as wife and mother. She had a gentle spirit with faith as big as a mountain. Her life spoke loudly, but ever so gently,” We are our brothers keepers.” Resting at the church of the Ascension, Chance Cove on Saturday, January 7th 1 p.m. until time of funeral.
