SURRETTE, EDNA "MEME" - Edna “Meme” Surrette, 91, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at The Moncton Hospital. Born January 8, 1921 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Eric Cormier and Rose-Alice Hébert. She is survived by four children: Donald (Yvette), Dian LeBlanc (Edward), Barbara-Ann Richard (Edgar), and Ritchie Robert “Bobby”; six grandchildren: Dawn, Kenneth, Julie, Janice, Richard, and Eric; six great-grandchildren: Isabella, Emanuel, Esmée, Isabelle, Jolyne, and Evan, a sister, Léona Collette; many nieces, and nephews. She is also predeceased by a twin son, Richard Charles; her brothers and sisters: Aurele, Lionel, Laurie, Régina, Exelda, Clarice and her former husband, Charles Surrette.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until departure time (9:20). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 226 St. George Street, Moncton, on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
