KNUTSON: Margit "Marg" Knutson, age 88 years, Swift Current, and formerly of Fosterton, SK, passed away December 23, 2011 at The foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home, Ponteix, SK. A graveside service and interment will take place at a later date at the family plot in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Marg is survived by a daughter Marlis (Larry) Baker, Swan Hills, AB; a son Kerry (Brenda) Knutson, Pennant, SK; seven grandchildren: Laine (Jamie) Baker, Clint (Stacey) Baker, Colton Knutson, Lacie (Tyrell) Bates, Greyson Knutson, Gavin Knutson and Brianna Knutson; six great grandchildren: Conner, Justin, Chase, Ryder, Nicholas and Hanna; a sister Sonja Nesseth, Swift Current, SK; two sisters-in-law: Doris Thoreson, Anne Cline; a brother-in-law Goldie Jamieson and several nieces and nephews. Margit was predeceased by: her husband Gilbert, a son Morley, two brothers: Rudolf and Harry Thoreson and her parents Reidar and Margit Thoreson. Marg was born in Tunhovd, Norway, September 26, 1923. She immigrated to Canada in 1933, with her parents and attended the Scotia School in the Fosterton district, then Normal School in Moose Jaw, SK. She then taught at the Underwood school at Shackelton, SK. She was united in marriage to her late husband Gilbert Knutson in 1945 and the couple farmed in the Fosterton district. She loved doing word puzzles, cooking and gardening. Marg had been a resident patient at the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix, SK since July 2009. In her memory memorial donations to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
