DESPRÉS, RACHEL - Rachel Després (née LeBlanc), passed away peacefully at ProTem Health Centre in Moncton on Monday, January 9, 2012 where she resided. Born on September 12, 1926 in Scoudouc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Cagetan and Florine (Gallant) LeBlanc. Rachel loved socializing, music, dancing, playing cards, crocheting and sewing. She retired from Food Services at the Moncton Hospital. She was a member of the pastoral committee and volunteered for Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, Villa du Repos and the Red Cross Meals on Wheels. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 64 years, François. She was a loving mother to her six children: Lucille (Doug Donegani) of Riverview, Eric (Elena) of Gatineau, Gérarda of Dieppe, Charles (Marie-Line) of Fredericton, Annette (Charles Robichaud) of Moncton and Claude (Lise) of Dieppe; loving grandmother to James, David, Stephen, Elisabeth, Daniel, Sébastien, Nathaniel, Raquel, Gabrielle and Justin; loving great-grandmother to Samantha, Brooke, Kyle, Michael and Cynthia. She was loved and will always be remembered for her warm heart and generous nature. She is predeceased by her sisters and brothers: Alfred, Lillianne, François, Florine, Marguerite, Hector, Philippe, Lucie and Lina. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse R.C. Church, 160 Ste-Thérèse Street, Dieppe, on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe.
