Aline Comeau
COMEAU, SR. ALINE - Sister Aline Comeau, in religion, Sr. Marie-Rose de l’Assomption, f.j., passed away on January 9th, 2012 at Monarch Hall, Riverview, NB., at the age of 85. She was in the 63rd year of her religious profession. She was born in Comeauville, NS, the daughter of the late Léger E. Comeau, of Comeauville, NS, and of the late Éveline Robichaud, of Meteghan, NS. Besides her religious family, she is survived by nieces and nephews and by one sister: Célina LeBlanc, of Meteghan Centre, NS. She was predeceased by two brothers : Médéric Comeau and Hubert Comeau. Sister Aline spent the first 30 years of her religious life in the teaching profession in the following locations: Saulnierville, L’Ardoise, Petit-de-Grat, Louisdale, Arichat-Ouest and Arichat, in Nova Scotia; in Adamsville, New Brunswick. She also taught the young Sisters in Moncton during 3 years. Her remaining active years were spent in a variety of activities such as a missionary presence in Roseau, Dominica, West Indies; as a member of a prayer house in L’Ardoise, NS; as the person in charge of the lay people groups at the Provincial House in Moncton; and finally, in pastoral work in Saulnierville, N.S. From 2001 on, she had to retire due to her health condition. She joined the infirmary at the Vice-Provincial House in Moncton in 2006. In 2010, when the property at 553 Elmwood Drive was sold, she was transferred with the other sick sisters to Monarch Hall, in Riverview. On Saturday, January 7, 2012, her health condition deteriorated quite rapidly. From then on, her sisters watched over her. She passed away on Monday, January 9th, around 8 o’clock.
Her remains will be exposed at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church St., Moncton (858-1900) Wednesday, January 11th, from 7 to 9 p.m. with a prayer celebration at 7:30 p.m. then transferred Thursday for 9 a.m. at the chapel of Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavillion of the Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) from where the funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday January 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe. www.frenettefuneralhome.com
