It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts, that we the family, announce the sudden passing of Ward Evans, at home, on Saturday January 7, 2012 .
Ward was born in Newfoundland on September 2, 1949. He was the son of the late George and Doris (Baker) Evans.
Ward was a member of Stella Maris Parish in Louisbourg and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to all. Ward was a hard working fishermen who worked at National Sea Products for many years then Clearwater Fine Foods, retiring after 21 years. His ever busy hands led him to work seasonally at Louisbourg Sea Foods.
Ward is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joanne; four children, Donna Marie (Jay Ball) Massachusetts, Deborah Lynn, Alberta, Dianna (Scott Desveaux), Sydney, Mark Wood (Mitchell Rowe), Ontario; as well as two beautiful grandchildren, Joseph (his best buddy) and Shaeleigh Ball. He will also be missed by his cherished dog Pogo.
Ward also leaves four sisters, Sue Dibbon, Louisbourg, Mary Day, North Sydney, Margaret Bolt, Grand Le Pierre, NF, and Janet Hollet, Burin NF.
He is predeceased by his one brother John and sisters, Phoebe and Sylvia. Ward will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Stella Maris Parish, Louisbourg, with Father Raj. officiating.
