It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Clayton Pike announce his passing at the Bonne Bay Health Center in Norris Point on Wednesday, November 25th, 2009, in his 81st year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife, Ivy (nee Folkes); son, Wayne (Juanita), Brampton, Ontario; daughters: Linda (Steve) Harris of Oshawa, Ontario, Annette (Harold) Clarke of Ajax, Ontario and Geraldine (John) Noel of Glenburnie, NL; sisters: Mrs. Marie Tuck of Florida, Mildred (Mrs. Fred Martin), Dorothy (Mrs. Jim Martin) and brother, Don (Gladys) Pike, all of Woody Point; his six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Clayton was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Jane Pike; an infant daughter; brothers: Donald, Neil (Sadie), Joseph (Ethel) and Harley (Gwen); and his sister, Elizabeth (Walter Kennedy). Also leaves to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from The Church of The Epiphany in Woody Point, today, Thursday, November 26th, 2009, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, November 27th, 2009, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where also the funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 28th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Charlene Laing officiating. Burial to follow at the church cemetery in Woody Point. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clayton's memory to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center, 300 Prince Philip Drive, St. John's, NL, A1B 3V6, would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
