With heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of our devoted and precious mother, grandmother, and grandnan, Marjorie Jean Mitchell (nee Ratford) of Bell Island, at the Health Science Centre on January 8, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie, aged 84, devoted her life to her family as well as being an active member of the C.L.B. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Bell Island Royal Canadian Legion for many years. Predeceased by her husband Charles, daughter Carol Mosdell (nee Mitchell), son Charles, parents Sidney and Gladys Ratford, brother Charles (Nuncy), and sister Julie (Gerald). Leaving to mourn daughters: Judith, Gladys (Ronald), Sharon (Jim), Barbara (Wayne); sons: Sidney, Edward, Robert (Cathy); son-in-law Glenn, and daughter-in-law Lynn; as well as thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends especially Jessie Hunt, Elaine Cobb, and Vera Boone. Marjorie will be fondly remembered and forever held in our hearts. Resting at Pendergast's Funeral Home, Bell Island, on Tuesday, January 10, from 12 noon - 9 p.m. and Wednesday, January 11, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place at St. Michael's Parish, Bell Island on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Family interment will follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are greatly accepted or donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Her love and support carried our family for years.
