Margaret \'Peggy\' Catherine Morrison passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at home in the company of her family.
Born at home in Baddeck Bay, June 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Rhodina (Matheson) MacDonald.
Survived by her daughter, Linda (Burland); son, Sam; grandchildren, Simone, Chelsea, Samantha and stepgrandchildren, Maia (Kirk), Christine and Ian Cann, also great-stepgrandchildren, Aidan, Jenna and Ethan; her sisters’ children, Pamela and Cathy and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Billy (2008), sister, Anna Marie (1998) and daughter-in-law, Mavis (2009).
Sadly missed by faithful companion Jenny.
Peggy was a life long member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Baddeck, where she served in the choir and was treasurer for over 25 years. She worked for many years at the historic White Store in Baddeck. Mom will forever be remembered by her golfing companions and bridge partners (many of whom she took great pleasure in introducing to the game). Some of Mom’s happiest hours were spent playing honeymoon bridge and cribbage in the kitchen with Billy where she often made spaghetti, meatballs and trifle.
Visitation for the late Peggy Morrison will take place Friday, Nov. 27 from 3-9 p.m. at the MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck. Funeral service to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 at Knox Church, Baddeck. Burial to follow at Highland Cemetery, Plaister Mines, Baddeck Bay, later that afternoon.
Family flowers by request. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Knox Presbyterian Church, Baddeck.
