Robert (Bob) Gordon Deyell age 76 of Amherst passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan NS.
Born in Wingham ON, he was a son of the late Gordon W. and Lillian M. (MacKewan) Deyell.
Bob retired from Masonite International as General Manager. Bob enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling and spending time at the camp with his friends and family. In his younger years, Bob and his wife attended many horse racing events all over the Maritimes as well as traveling to different places for vacation.
He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 27 years the former, Frances Pettigrew; his son, James Deyell of Vancouver BC; daughters, Sheila (Terry Pearce) Deyell of Brampton ON and Judith (John Hendricks) Deyell of Whitby ON; stepson, Wayne (Loretta) Downey of River Hebert NS; stepdaughter, Vicky (Tony) Hum of Amherst; also survived by his sisters, Madeline Schatte of Sarnia ON, Judy Staight of Wingham ON; as well as his nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his sister, Marie Henry.
In respect of Bob's wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906) and there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment will take place at a later date in Wingham, ON.
