At Western Hospital, Alberton on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 of Mary Winnifred (Winnie) Shaw, O’Leary, age 91, wife of the late Lorne Shaw. Born in Cape Wolfe, Sept. 5, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Teresa (O’Halloran) Reilly. Cherished mother to Lorna Shaw, Alberton; Keith (Shirley), Hamilton, ON; Audrey Vey, Orono, ON; Phyllis (Dan) MacDonald, Charlottetown; Barb (Leo) MacDonald, O’Leary; Mary (Stewart) Gillcash, Glenwood and Arlene (Eddison) Dyment, Saint John, NB. Loving grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Dear sister to William Reilly, Halifax, NS; Howard Reilly, New Glasgow, NS; Irma Allen, Hamilton, ON; Mae Wedge, Hamilton, ON; James (Janet) Reilly, Burton; Eileen (Dale) McKenna, Elmsdale and Rhoda (Frank) McCarville, Hamilton, ON. Mary is also survived by brothers in law: Reagh (Glennis) Shaw, O’Leary; Gerald (Freda) Shaw, O’Leary; Alfred O’Connor, Hamilton, ON; sisters in law: Vera Shaw, BC; Marion Shaw, O’Leary and Helen Reilly, Charlottetown. Predeceased by parents, husband Lorne, grandson Paul Shaw, great grandson Kevin Swerdfiger, brothers: Thomas (infancy), Charlie, Vernon, Willis and sisters: Doris Currie, Phyllis Griffin and Annie O’Connor, also son in law George Vey. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday until 9:45 a.m., then to St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, Burton, Lot 7 for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the Spring in the Parish Cemetery. In memory of Mary, memorials to St. Mark’s Cemetery or PEI Lung Association would be appreciated. Due to severe family allergies, please refrain from wearing scents.
