(General Hospital, Class of ’42). Passed peacefully away on January 10, 2012, Maude Brown, age 92, who made her home in Tack’s Beach, Placentia Bay and Topsail. Predeceased by her husband Cecil (1976) and granddaughter Jane (1992); also brothers: Cecil and Rex Butler and sister Kay Butler (1946) Left with many fond memories are her two sons: Howard (Valerie), Rex (Elaine), and two daughters: Barbara, and Brenda (Bob Helleur); grandchildren: Jill (Aubrey), Jim, Michelle (Dean), Heather (Matt), Benjamin and Janine (Cordell) and four great-grandchildren: Luke and Kate Sanders and Matthew and John Barnes; also her sister, June Sturge, and sisters-in-law: Winnie Brown, Beatrice Dewling, Gladys Ryan and Molly Jones, and a large circle of other relatives and close friends. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Stella Burry Place, Agnes Pratt Home, for their compassionate care. At Maude’s request cremation has taken place. Visitors will be welcomed at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 1045 Topsail Road, Mt. Pearl, on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Topsail United Church, Topsail at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012.
