Bertha Young
In appreciation for those good neighbors and kind friends who attended the funeral service held at the Holy Redeemer Church and an excellent reception catered by the Pier Community Funeral Home for Bertha Young who passed away December 22, 2011. The Service and eulogy delivered by Father John Gillis -a visiting resident of Whitney Pier- was superb and complemented by the Choir directed by Ms Peggy McLaine. Also, a special thanks to Chant’s Funeral Home and staff for their professional undertaking of the arrangements –down to the last detail of the flowers supplied by Lotherington’s. Their understanding and compassion shown towards the family in our time of need is greatly appreciated. Bertha really enjoyed her birthday parties -always with live music and thanks to Aaron Lewis on keyboard for the reception she had the equivalent of her famous Birthday Parties for a grand send-off. A special thanks to Leo Evans, a dear friend and neighbor for many years, for saying a few kind words about the neighborhood and how Bertha contributed to the community and cared for her many friends. Thank you from Bertha and the Young Family for the great turn-out and kind condolences.
