Ola Ross (Fraser) Cook

Cook, Ola Ross (Fraser) – Bible Hill
The family sadly announces the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Sister. Ola passed into the arms of her beloved Lord and Savior in Shannex Vimy Court, Bible Hill on January 9, 2012 four days after celebrating her 95th birthday. Mother was born on January 5, 1917 at the family farm in Belnan, NS to the late Edwin and Ola Fraser. Mother was an accomplished pianist, avid crossword solver and at the game of scrabble a champion hard to outdo. Mom was a quiet and humble lady whose world was centered on her family, friends and church. Mother attended the Nova Scotia Business School and worked in Halifax and Truro before her marriage. When her children were in school Ola went to work in Halifax finishing her career in Family Court. This was a job she really enjoyed and made many friends who visited her often for many years in Truro and later in Vimy Court. Ola moved to Vimy Court in Bible Hill in 2009. She often said how contented she was to be there with such good care. Without fail, Ola is remembered for the twinkle in here eye and her sense of humor. It’s appropriate to note that her last words “thank you” to the caregiver who tucked her into bed minutes before she passed away. This was typical of Ola. She appreciated everything that was done for her. Mother is survived by five children, Evelyn Dunphy (Hugh), West Bath Maine, George (Betty), Digby, Ross (Theresa) Orleans, Ontario, Eric (Michelle), Truro, Gary, Digby; sister, Elsbeth Hennigar, Oakville, Ontario. She was predeceased by sister, Lena and brothers, Richmond and Cecil. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, with Rev. Clair MacLeod officiating. Spring interment in South Maitland United Church Cemetery in the family plot. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
