OWEN, Budah Mildred – 90, of Nakile Home for Special Care, formerly of Lower Argyle, passed away January 8, 2012 at Nakile Home for Special Care. Born August 26, 1921 in Argyle Sound, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter of the late John and Marion (Hamilton) Nickerson. Budah was a member of Argyle-Pubnico Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Sew & Circle Club of Lower Argyle, New Horizons Club and the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #94. She was a homemaker all her life. She is survived by daughters, Marjorie Owen, Toronto, Ont.; Barbara Cook, Central Argyle; sons, Richard, Cold Lake, Alta.; Michael, O’Leary, P.E.I.; Tim and Perry, both of Yarmouth; brothers, Adelbert, Argyle Sound; Howard, Lower Argyle; Jamie,West Pubnico; William, Yarmouth; John, Sandford; sisters, Mavis Goodwin, Mass.; Cora Brown, Jordan Falls; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Preston; brother, Cecil Nickerson; sisters, Freda Goodwin, Roselind Nickerson, Annie Murphy, Ruby Goodwin, Regina Hines, Virginia Crowell and Dorothy Goodwin. Funeral arrangements had been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Tuesday, January 10 from 7-9 p.m. at Argyle-Pubnico Baptist Church, where funeral service took place on Wednesday, January 11 at 2 p.m., Rev. Richard Fowler officiated. Interment followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations in Budah’s memory may be made to Argyle-Pubnico Baptist Church.
