At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, May 18, 2008, of Gordon L. MacLean of Freetown, aged 81 years. Veteran of the Korean War. Born in Port Borden on Aug. 20, 1926, son of Kenneth and Margaret (Murphy) MacLean. Husband of Mae E. (MacKinnon) MacLean. Father of Gordon, Freetown and Shane of Winsloe. Grandfather of Michele MacLean LaBobe (Wendell), Victor MacLean (Rachel Drake), Shaun MacLean (Karrie Tetford) and great-grandfather of Parker, Ty, Kiara, Bradley and Aden. Brother of Anna Glydon, Charlottetown, Betty Gallant, New Brunswick and Jean Harrison, Ontario. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Windsor, Donald, Bill, Allison and Gary MacLean, sisters Marion Martinell and Doreen Buckley. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, where comrades of the E.W. Johnstone Br. No. 9 Royal Canadian Legion, Kensington, will hold a service of remembrance Tuesday evening at 6:30, followed by visitation from 6:45-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the Highfield Cemetery.
