Madeline Marie Fahey-Bigney (nee Goodwin)
Lovingly remembered Madeline Fahey-Bigney of Truro, NS left us peacefully to go into the arms of the Lord on the early morning of November 18, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital. She would have celebrated her birthday on November 20th. She was born in Debert to Calvin and Lillian (Matthews) Goodwin. After living in New Brunswick and Newfoundland, she moved to Truro in 1956. She worked several years with “Hi Neighbor†welcoming newcomers to the area. Madeline was well known in ladies' retail fashion working 20 years with Pye's Peek-a-boutique and Temptations. Her entire life was dedicated to her family who describe her as loving, honest, hard-working, gracious, tender-hearted and fun. She married her second husband after both were widowed and they enjoyed many years together. She was a member of People's Church. Beloved wife of Lorne Bigney and the late Robert A. Fahey (1987). Adored mother of Calvin (Diane) Fahey, Ralph (Doris) Fahey and Sherry (Harold) Fillmore. Cherished Nannie of 7 grandchildren, Christine, Rod, Peter, Jason and Bridget Fahey, Lisa Fahey-Jacko, Brandon Fillmore and 3 great-grandchildren, Isaac, Keira and Madeleine Fahey and 3 step-great-grandchildren, Jake and Riley Blair. Step-mother of Glen, Merle, Gary, Ralph Bigney and Goldie MacKinnon and their spouses; 13 step-grandchildren and 25 step-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her sister Wanda (Paul) Comeau and her brothers Bryce (Anne), Percy, and Terry Goodwin. Family and friends are warmly invited for visitation on Monday, November 30th from 7-9 pm with a Celebration of Life and Remembrance for Madeline, followed by a reception, at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 1st all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St, Truro. Pastor Ken Fillmore will officiate. Spring interment in Robie Street Cemetery. Donations in memory of Madeline may be made to Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice. A heartfelt thank you to all the special people at Cedarstone Enhanced Care who encouraged Madeline's beautiful smile this last year and a half. Her family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Drs Ryan Sommers, Ryve Loshaj and Barry Wheeler, as well as Ann McKim and the entire nursing staff of 4 south, Colchester Regional Hospital for the care given to Mom in her final days.
