Joyce Prior Greck, Cheltenham, Ont. passed away peacefully at the Shelbourne Residence on September 2, 2009 after a lengthy illness.
Born on April 2, 1925 in New Waterford, Joyce was the daughter of John and Genevieve (MacNeil) Prior.
Joyce was a very outgoing, friendly and personable lady. She was dedicated to raising her family which was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed her hobbies of needle point and rug hooking. She was also an avid reader.
She is survived by her son, Bruce and daughters, Deborah, Susan and Linda. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her sisters, Lil (Leo) Chaisson, Carmel (Bill) Kavluk, both of Ontario, Patricia (Fred) Melanson of New Brunswick, Gladys (Malcolm) MacNeil, Joan (Andrew) Jurcina and Genevieve (Edward) Cook, all of New Waterford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Henry Greck and brother, Clifford Prior.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Doney Funeral Home, Shelbourne, Ont. A memorial mass will be celebrated at the Parish Church of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, New Waterford, on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at 10 a.m.
