It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo Byrne announce his peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital with his family beside him on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the age of 71 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 46 years Laverne (nee Ruth); four sons: Joseph (Michelle) of Irishtown, Cyril Byrne of Fredericton NB, Danny (Lisa) of Mount Moriah, NL, Jamie (Amanda) of Hughes Brook, NL; precious grandchildren: Amy, Dylan, Riley, Arianna, Matthew, Bryan; brothers: Bill (Leen), Ralph, Fred (Judy), Clarence (Beryl), Ronald (Irene); sisters: Isabel Bishop (Kevin), Emma Wells (Gene), Ienz Bennett (Verdon), Helen Blackwood (Randy); mother-in-law Gussie Ruth; sisters-in-law: Myra Greening (Calvin), Doreen Payne (Frank), Beulah Brodrick (Stan); also a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. He is predeceased by his parents Larry and Veronica Byrne, sister Bridgette Park, brother-in-law Andy Park and sister-in-law Vinnie Byrne. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from All Hallows Roman Catholic Church, Humber Road on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating, interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted of donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
