It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father.
Born in Spainard’s Bay, N.L., Nov. 25, 1921, he was the youngest son of the late Moses and Julia (Mercer) Bishop.
Lewis is survived by his two daughters, Jean (Butch) Hoffman and Terry Lynn (Doug) Sheppard; grandchildren, Lori Lynn and Kyle Hoffman, Angela Campbell and Anthony Sheppard; and great-grandchildren, Mitchel, Keagan, Kylie, Mannix and Carter.
Besides his parents, Lewis was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Vivian (Mercer) Bishop, brothers, Drover, Henry, Ches and Max. Lewis was the last surviving member of his family.
Lewis was employed for 33 years with Atlantic Springs and Machine Shop as a welder. Retiring in 1987 he completed his trade as a welder at the Shipyard in Pictou, N.S.
Dad was a very humble man, devoted to his family and he was a true confidant. He will always live in our hearts.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Patten Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either the Palliative Care Society or to St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
