It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn: daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend. Survived by her loving husband and partner of 37 years, Lee Vanstone; son John McKinnon (Linda); daughter Pat Lindal; grandchildren Cori Beaudin (Scott), Todd McKinnon, Darryl McKinnon and Brenda Lindal; great-grandchildren Jenna Beaudin, Melayna Beaudin and Alicia McKinnon; and other family members who have walked through life with Evelyn: Sandra McKinnon (daughter-in-law), Terry Lindal (son-in-law) and Jim Wishart (foster son).
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Violet Basham, and her first husband Colin (Mac) McKinnon.
Evelyn was co-owner of Tillicum Bay Marina for many years and is well known in Sechelt for being the “Avon Lady” from 1965 to well into the ‘90s. One of Evelyn’s favourite ways to pass time was playing cards at the Seniors’ Centre with her many friends. She always enjoyed time and the support of all of her friends at W.W.C.
There will be no service by request. A small gathering for family and close friends will take place in early May to honour Evelyn’s life.
Evelyn will live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends forever.
