The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 of Edith Eileen Praught of Summerside and formerly of Grand River, P.E.I., aged 85 years. Edith was born on Aug. 9, 1926 in Lot 16, P.E.I. to her late parents Nelson and Gertrude (nee Baglole) Birch. Beloved wife of Jack Praught and loving mother of Blair of Charlottetown, Judy (Wyman) Enman of North Enmore, Joanie of Summerside, Barb (Rob) Richard of Summerside and Brenda (Kent) Biggar of Tyne Valley. Also lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Debbie, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brothers and sisters Shirley (Reg) Arsenault of Lethbridge AB., Sadie (Denis) Dolan, Doreen (Joe) Richard all of Summerside, Junior (Cindy) Winchester of Saint John, N.B. and Ossie (Doris) Winchester of Summerside. Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her son Jackie. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, then to St. Patrick’s Church, Grand River for a funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Thursday, 2-6 p.m. only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Edith’s memory to St. Patrick’s Church Building Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
