ETHEL AINSLIE
April 22, 1921 ~ January 11, 2012
Ethel passed away peacefully at Christenson Village on January 11, 2012 with family at her side. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Jack Ainslie. Loving mother of Chuck and his wife Pat, of Toronto; and Jim and his wife Maureen, of Roberts Creek. Dear grandmother of Niki, Kim, Jeff, Allison (Eric) and Cameron.
Ethel was born in Chisholm, Alberta and raised in New Westminster, BC. She proudly served in the Canadian Army during WWII where she met her husband, Jack. They relocated to Windsor, Ontario after the war and raised their family. Ethel made a career with the Ontario Court System where she achieved the position of Justice of the Peace.
Ethel and Jack moved to Sechelt in their later years to be close to family, where Ethel enjoyed golfing with the Sechelt ladies’ league and her involvement with St. John’s United Church.
Ethel will be remembered for her sense of humour and strong spirit. She will be deeply missed.
The family gives special thanks to the caring staff at Christenson Village as well as the Home Support team, neighbours and the congregation of St. John’s United Church.
A service will be held at Christenson Village in the near future.
