The death occurred at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Saturday, November 28, 2009 of Elizabeth "Bett" Gallant, of Summerside and formerly of the Brae, aged 87 years. Born in the Brae, she was the daughter of the late Onisema and Lena (McGaughey) Gallant. Survived by a sister Mary Gavin, Summerside; and by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Marjorie Slavin; brothers-in-law George Young, Elmer Slavin and Milford Gavin; and nephews Emmett and Harold Young. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Wednesday, then to Immaculate Conception Church, Brae, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wedgewood Manor Memorial Trust Fund would be appreciated.
