The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Sunday, May 25th, 2008, of Peter Vincent Handrahan of Kensington, and formerly of Tignish, aged 90 years. Vincent was born on June 26th, 1917, in Norway, P.E.I., to his late parents Austin and Melvina (Ready ) Handrahan. Beloved husband of the late Marion (nee McQuaid ) Handrahan. Survived by his sisters-in- law, Alice Hunt, Peggy Spilsbury, Mary, Teresa, and Joan McQuaid. Also lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters, Eileen (Roy) Harper, Viola (Wade) Harper, Anna (Jack) Connolly, Emily (Melvin) McQuaid and by his brothers Alfred (Emily), Stephen, Austin and Bernard Handrahan. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Wednesday, May 28th, then to the Church of the Holy Family, Kensington, for funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Simon and St. Jude Parish Cemetery, Tignish at 3 p.m. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only, 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Vincent's memory to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund or Meals on Wheels, Kensington would be greatly appreciated.
