We are sad to announce the passing of Joe at Fischer Place in 100 Mile House.

Joe was a proud veteran of 25 years in the navy, he served in World War ll and the Korean War. He is the last survivor of the H.M.C.S. Esquimalt, which sank on April 16, 1945. The last ship lost to enemy action in World War ll. Joe was a member of the Kamloops Naval Veterans Association, Korean Veterans Association, H.M.C.S. Memorial Association, and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, belonging to Branch #107, Chase.

Our "Heartfelt Thanks" go out to Dr. Rollheiser at Kamloops Hospital and Dr. Street and nursing staff of Fischer Place for their compassionate care.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Legion.
