Mr. John Duncan MacLellan, 75, Glace Bay, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at the Glace Bay Hospital with his family by his side.
Born in Inverness, he was the son of the late Archie and Mary Catherine (Smith) MacLellan.
John was retired from the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires.
He is survived by sons, John Alex, Terrace, B.C., Wayne Anthony, at home, and James (Tanya), Glace Bay; grandchildren, Jevon and Guy; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are sisters, Georgina (Mike Donnelly), Veronica (the late John Brushett), Anne and brothers, Murdock (the late Geraldine) and Wayne (Danielle).
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Yvonne, brothers, Archie Jr., Willard, Uncle Burton Saunders, a sister, Mildred in infancy and a daughter in infancy.
In honouring dad’s wishes there will be no visitation.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Service will be held at a later date.
Special thanks to Aunt Johnenna and Aunt Marie for all the loving care they provided for dad. Also many thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of 3 East at the Glace Bay Hospital.
