It is with great sadness that we, the family of Jim Brazil announce his sudden, yet peaceful passing at his home in Paradise on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, aged 75 years. Predeceased by his parents John and Helen Brazil, brothers Daniel, Bernard and Thomas, sisters Mary and Ann. Leaving to mourn his loving and caring partner of 29 years Dorothy Coates Butler; step-children: Debbie Squires (Brad), Hubert Butler, Glen Butler (Christine); grandchildren: Calyssa and Christian Squires, Melanie Butler and Miah Butler; brothers Gerald and Edward, Bell Island; sister Margaret Skehans (Bill); special nephew and buddy Todd Skehans; sister-in-law Viola Brazil; also the extended Coates family. His cherished pets, Ginger and Whiskers, also nephews, nieces and a large circle of family and friends. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday, January 19, 2-9 p.m., Friday, January 20, St Michael's Church, Bell Island, 12 (noon) to 1:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery Bell Island.
