Passed on: October 12th, 2006

March 29, 1919 - October 12, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a wonderful husband, father and friend. Les passed away with his family by his side and as with everything he did he showed his strength and determination to the end. Les was born in Watford, England and served in WWII. He was a POW for five years and upon returning home he met his soul mate and wife of 60 years, Olive. Together, with their children they immigrated to Canada in 1956 and settled in Surrey, B.C. Upon his retirement Les moved to the Shuswap and had since moved to Kamloops. Les had a special love and talent for oil painting, he loved camping with his children and enjoyed tinkering with his car and in his home. He was an amazing Father and was very proud of his three children Lesley, Marty and Julie. He was blessed with amazing grandchildren Rob, Mike, Nadine, Christine, Emily and his great grand-daughter Jaeden. Les's love for life and his incredible sense of humour will be celebrated at 103 - 875 Sahali Terrace on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Berwick and big hugs and kisses to the amazing staff at the Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Les's name to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice, 72 Whiteshield Crescent, Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9.
