PATRICIA LOUISE PARKMAN July 1935 - Oct. 2006 It is with a heavy heart and much regret that we announce the passing of Patricia Parkman an incredible mother, fabulous friend and loving wife. She leaves to mourn her husband of 51 years Layton, son Rick (Nancy), daughter Wendy (Craig) Galbraith and son in-law Mike Neal. Also left to mourn her passing are the grandchildren Desiree and Shawn Birkenhead, Bryanna Parkman (Mike), Jamie and Jenifer Galbraith and Leah Neal (Ray), great-grandson Keaton Birkenhead, sister Shirley (Willie) Wilkinson, nieces Terri and Kelly Low, and nephew Mark (Brigita, Nicole and Stephanie Wilkinson). Patty was predeceased by her son Grant in 1977 and her daughter Vonna in 1989. Mom was born in Princeton and spent her childhood years growing up in Copper Mountain and then finished high school in Princeton. She met the love of her life Layton in Copper Mountain and together they started their life together in Princeton where later Grant was born. They then moved to Kamloops in 1956 where they continued to raise their family. Patty worked at Sears, Ponderosa Lodge and for Homecare. She enjoyed spending time with her family and having back yard barbeques. Mom was the envy of all the kids as she so willingly participated in all their activities whether it be driving to and from sporting events, then being the First Aid attendant or attending school as the PAC mom. Patty was a true friend and through all her trials in life she was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She was the kindest and most generous loving person and will be sadly missed by many but not forgotten. The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2006 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Cameron Pierson officiating.
