It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colin Porter, 27, on Thursday, Jan 19, 2012.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of Gary and the late Joanne (Julian) Porter. He will always be remembered as a loving son, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
He was an avid sports fan and a life time Montreal Canadian's fan. Colin was always hoping for the 'big win' on his weekly pro-line tickets. He worked out West and was a member of Local 92 labourers Union.
Colin is survived by his father Gary (Brenda); his sister Nadine (Greg); niece Haylee and nephews Ethan and Dexter; his grandmother, Molly Julian and his girlfriend Jenna and many aunts, uncles and cousins from both the Porter and Julian families.
He was predeceased by his mother Joanne (Julian) Porter; his grandparents Marguerite and Colin Porter, Duncan White and Charles Julian.
Visitation for the late Colin Porter will take place in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Sunday January, 22, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Colin’s life will be held in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines, on Monday January, 23 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Thomas John officiating.
Donations in Colin’s memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity on one's choice.
