1928 ~ 2006 Verna Myrtle Ranger of Kamloops passed away on October 22, 2006 at 78 years of age. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Ken) Calder of Kitimat, Rick (Pam) Ranger, Darrell (Dixie) Ranger, and Sandra (Andrew) Ranger, all of Kamloops; grandchildren Charlene (Carlo), Marc (Michelle), Dayle, Dana, Courtney, and Kaitlin; great grandchildren Hayley, Dominic, and Adam; sisters Alice Hallam of Kamloops and Lily Kenyon of Saskatchewan; aunt Myrtle Milne of Saskatchewan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Edmund, son Lyle, brother Wilbert, and sister Gladys. Mom was born in Buchanan, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm. She moved to Kelowna in 1948, with her mother Bertha and sister Alice. After marrying Ed, they lived in numerous places in BC before settling in Kamloops in 1960 to raise their children. Mom loved to dance, sew, knit, crochet and play Bingo. She spent endless hours tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Mom enjoyed cooking and baked the best treats. She loved having family and friends together for dinner, and also enjoyed camping and fishing trips with her family. Special thanks and much appreciation to all the caregivers who gave Mom comfort in her hours of need. A Celebration of Mom's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2006 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Dawne Taylor officiating. Following the service, Mom will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.
