Gerald Adrian McNeil, 86, passed away on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Neil and Gertrude McNeil.
Gerald served overseas during the Second World War in Holland and returning home was employed in the scales department of DEVCO, retiring in 1988.
He is survived by his children, Geraldine (Robert) Addicott, Aaron (Fely) and Karl (Theresa), all of Glace Bay and Edward, Toronto; grandchildren, Jason, Glace Bay and Ian, Regina; sisters, Kay MacDonald and Frances (John) MacKay; brother, Kevin (Babe); many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence; brothers, Dan and James; sister, Marie.
Visitation will be held Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church with burial in the parish cemetery.
Donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
