After a hard fought battle with Alzheimer's disease, it is with mixed feelings of relief and sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved mother Patricia (Pat) Margaret Fraser.

Predeceased by her husband Len (1989) and son Tim (June 2009), Mom leaves behind her sons Michael in Victoria and Andy (Maria Luisa) in Kamloops, daughter Lisah (Perry) in Kamloops and daughter-in-law Jean (Tim) in Victoria, as well as grandchildren Tammy, Melissa, Tim, Rachel, Guy, Francesca and Louis, and great-grandchild Faye.

Pat was the only child of Doctor and Mrs. Arthur Brown of Vancouver. Her father was a prominent surgeon turned lecturer, author and radio personality, writing and lecturing on the relationship between God and science. While travelling with her father in the States during the summer of 1947, they were in a car accident that claimed her father's life - she was only 17 at the time. Her mother Margaret worked as a nurse and archivist at several hospitals around BC, including Salmon Arm, and passed away in 1982 in Victoria, BC.

Growing up in Victoria, Mom attended St. Margaret's Private School for girls. In 1951, she married her first husband Geoff and they had two sons, Michael and Timothy. Mom and Geoff parted ways in 1956 and in 1959, Pat married the love of her life, Louis (Len) Fraser. Together they had two children, Lisah and Andy. Mom worked in Real Estate in Victoria for many years, before moving with her husband and children to Kamloops in August 1973. She worked as a ward clerk at Royal Inland Hospital until her retirement in 1991, making many friends along the way, and Pat and Len enjoyed 30 wonderful years together until Len passed away in May 1989.

Mom loved Kamloops, especially the hot dry summers. Many weekends were spent at the family cabin at Red Lake, enjoying the sun and scenery in the summer, and snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter. Lisah and Andy also enjoyed many well planned vacations as kids, including trips to Disneyland, Yellowstone Park, and Spain and Morocco. Mom loved to travel, and made many trips to Hawaii with friends, and to the Caribbean in her later years to visit Lisah in the Grand Caymans.

Mom was such a beautiful soul. She was kind, compassionate, and always the proper lady. She was also very artistic and a little eccentric at times, but most of all a wonderful mother. It gives us great comfort to know that she is with her beloved husband Len and son Tim.

Mom's family would like to thank all of the wonderful people at Kamloops Seniors Village who provided mom with such loving and tender care during her stay there, in particular the people who work in unit 2C. You were so kind and caring to mom and our family as we maintained a vigil during her last days, and we are eternally grateful for everything you did. Angels are among us, and some work at Kamloops Seniors Village.

A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., St Paul's Anglican Church with Reverend Louise Peters officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall, and all friends are invited to join us for a snack and some fond memories of Mom.
