RICHARD, OSCAR - 1934 - 2012 - Oscar Richard, 77, of Moncton, NB, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, January 22nd, 2012, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center. Born in Ste-Marie-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Elie and the late Emilienne (née: Savoie) Richard. Mr. Richard worked as a postman and supervisor and retired after 32 years of service with Canada Post. He enjoyed travelling, playing cards and bowling, however his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the FSNA (Moncton), Heritage Club, Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix parish and a volunteer at the Club d’Age d’Or. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Clémentine (née: LeBlanc); two daughters: Anne Richard (Jean-Paul Gallant) of Moncton and Lise (Claude) Després of Dieppe; one son, Luc of Moncton; one sister, Huberte (Roger) Caissie of Bouctouche; three brothers: Léonide of Ste-Marie-de-Kent, Fernand of Hartford, CT and Joseph (Rose-Marie) of Gardner, MA; one sister-in-law, Adrienne Wirth of Gardner, MA; two grandchildren, which he adored: Élodie and Cédric Gallant as well as his godmother, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 pm ONLY. Funeral mass will be celebrated from the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, NB on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at 11 am. Interment at Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
