Edward Burbridge
BURBRIDGE, EDWARD LAWRENCE - Surrounded by his loving wife and their 11 children, Edward Burbridge, husband of Aureline Burbridge (Duguay), went to his eternal rest on Sunday January 22, 2012. Born 1930, in Pokemouche, NB, to the late Richard and Lydia (Ferguson) Burbridge. Edward was a member of the Saint John Police Force for over 23 years, where he then transferred to the Parks and Recreation Division with the City of Saint John, where he later retired. Besides his wife, Edward is survived by his eleven loving children; Nancy Johnson (Carl) of Michigan, Carol Burbridge (Joe) of Saint John, Glenda Creamer (Darrell) of Saint John, Reg Burbridge (Cathie) of Saint John, Lester Burbridge of Saint John, Bill Burbridge (Lori) of Saint John, Darlene Burbridge (Blaine) of Saint John, Bernice Ross (Michael) of Edmonton, AB, Donald Burbridge of Edmonton, AB, John Burbridge (David) of Barrie, ON, and Michelle Burbridge (Scott) of Saint John; four siblings Ella Robichaud of Chance Harbour, Margaret Noel of Saint John, Martha Smythe of Niagara Falls, ON, and Rita Savoy of Grandbay-Westfield; grandchildren Adam, Ashley, Shane, Mike, Andrew, Matthew, Mallory, Mark, Rebecca, Trent, Jarrod, Colin, Kevin, Kyle, and Landon; great grandchild Greyson; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by his siblings Bernard, William, Agnes, Nancy and Theresa and several half brothers and sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitations will be held on Tuesday, January 24 and Wednesday, January 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held from St. Joachims Catholic Church on Thursday, January 26 at 11:00am followed by a reception at Fundy Funeral Home.
