Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Palliative Care Unit on January 23rd, 2012, age 59 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 35 years Deborah (Bursey); daughter Amanda and son Steven; two beloved granddaughters: Alicia and Shelby; sisters: Agnes Burke, Boston, Mass., Joyce Lewis (Wayne), Kingston, Ont., Sandra Fowlow (Mardon), Guelph, Ont., Laura Hennessey (Chris), Torbay, Deborah Penton (Leonard) and Linda Clarke of St. John’s; brothers: Derrick (Karen), Paradise, Eugene (Jocelyn), P.E.I. and William of St. John’s; two brothers-in-law: Douglas Bursey (Marion), Mt. Pearl and David Bursey (Donna), St. John’s. Also leaving to mourn nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
