Our mother, Jean Osborne (Rafuse), aged 81, the daughter of Ida Jane (Hunter) and Colby Smith passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughter Teresa at her side early in the morning of 12 January 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Osborne (Rafuse), brothers Edgar (WW II), Hartley and Carl; sisters Dorothy and most precious best friend and sister Myrtle (Taylor).
She is survived and missed by her children: Dorothy (Michael), Denise (Cyril), Teresa (Lynn),and Anthony (Gail). Her grandchildren Tal, Greg, Stacy and Amy. Her sister Marjorie (New Minas), and brothers; Ernie, Allison and Curtis (Parrsboro). And numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is truly thankful for the love and dignity shown to her by the staff at Williams Country Home (Hilden). We thank Mattatal-Varner's Funeral Home (Truro) and Smith's Funeral Home (Parrsboro) for their professional assistance.
The funeral was held in Truro on 14 January 2012, Captain McNeilly, of her beloved church, The Salvation Army, officiating. Interment was held the same day in the Baptist cemetery, Parrsboro.
We will always miss her, but are so glad that she is now at home with our Lord Jesus.
