We, the family of the late Katie LeBlanc, Alder Point, wish to express our sincere appreciation to relatives, neighbours and friends for the kindness shown to us during our recent loss. To our many friends who phoned, sent flowers, mass cards, brought food to our homes, sent e-mails and on line condolences, made donations in Mama's memory and remembered us in their prayers, we are forever grateful. Special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the ICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their compassionate care and to the staff of Palliative Care for their gentle counseling. As well we would like to extend our appreciation to Dr. Paul Hickey for his continuous care and to Father MacGillivray, chaplain at the hospital. Thank you to Father Peter McLeod for his hospital visits and for the beautiful funeral mass, which was a wonderful tribute to Mama. We also wish to thank the organist and choir, the altar servers, lectors, eucharistic ministers and gift bearers for their contribution to the funeral mass. Special thanks to the Bras d'Or Seniors' and Pensioners' Club for the honour guard and prayer. Special gratitude is also extended to the Hospitality Committee who provided a lovely lunch following the funeral. Thanks go out as well to Mama's grandsons for paying tribute to her with one of her favourite songs. Thank you to Bob Francis and staff of Francis Funeral Home for their compassion and support during our time of sorrow. To Mama's caregivers, the Cape Breton County Homemakers, we offer much gratitude for helping her to maintain her independence at home. Thank you also to Aunt Eunice, Phyllis, Shirley and Clyde for the kindness shown to Mama over the years. You have all made our burden lighter. God bless you.
