It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Annette Somers on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Hilda (MacDonald) Riley.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed.
Annette is survived by her children, Cornelius Somers, Sydney, Cordelia Somers, Lower Sackville, and Joan Martin, as well as six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius Somers; brother, Reginald Riley.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., from 12-2 p.m. with a funeral service in the chapel to follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Cremation to follow.
