GORDON RUSSELL BALL Jan. 23, 1925 - Oct. 24, 2006 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Ball at the age of 81 years. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Cora and Robert, and his wife Joan in 1990. Gordon is survived by his sister Lois (Wes) Docksteader and their children Greg, Larry, Wendy and Rick; his daughters Carol (Antonio) Ramunno, Janet (Steve) Jeffery, Susan (Jim) Siba and Nancy (Ian) Doherty; his sons Norman (Maggie) Ball, Doug (Debbie) Ball, Brian (Terri) Ball and Gene (Angie) Bardeleau; grandchildren Mandy, Ginger and Jenna; Dean and Anne; Caitlin and Francesca; Kerry, Natasha, Jason, Tonya, Shawn and Shawna; Travis and Jennifer; and Shaun. Gordon will also be missed by his good friends Keith Woodall, Norman Thomas and Mario Ramunno. In Gordon's early years, he was employed by the Sandner Bros in Christina Lake. In 1965, Gordon and Joan moved to Kamloops and Gordon eventually started work at Balco where he stayed until his retirement. Gordon had a special talent as a woodworker who took great pride in the details and craftsmanship of his many projects. He also enjoyed fishing the local area lakes and spent many hours playing crib. Many summer months were spent at the family property at Cascade on the Kettle River. Gordon and his sister worked hard turning it into a beautiful park like setting. Gordon enjoyed friends and family gathering there. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with pastor Don Maione officiating. Should friends desire donations to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, B.C. V2C 2T1 in memory of Gordon would be appreciated. Service arrangements are entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, telephone 374-1454
