Seth Switherenbank Story Feb.15, 1930 ~ Nov. 11, 2006 Surrounded by his family, Seth Story passed away peacefully during the Leafs vs Canadians hockey game on November 11, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Neta, his children John (Jozica), Ken (Kathy), Keith (Rilla), Mary (Tim), Jean (Brian) and Rob (Wanda). Seth was the grandfather to 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Seth is also survived by his baby sister Mary Bell (Bill) and his brother Art Story. Seth was predeceased by his parents Ada and Thomas Story and 8 brothers and sisters. Seth was born February 15th, 1930 in Shepard, Alberta and moved to Nanaimo with Neta and family in 1953. He was a long time employee of Harmac and Nanaimo Realty until his retirement in 1995. Seth was a strong believer in community service and was a volunteer in the Wellington community including the Wellington Volunteer Fire Department (32 years), Wellington Waterworks District, Wellington Community Association, BC Old Age Pensioners, Salvation Army Kettle Drive and spokesperson for the Nanaimo Volunteer Firefighters. Seth had a great love of family, books and sports. He will be missed for his sense of humour, joy of life and wisdom. Norman Vincent Peale Service to be held at Sands Funeral Home, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception at the Wellington Community Hall to follow at 1pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Salvation Army Christmas Cheer Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
