1942 - 2012
Roelof was born in Vries, Drente, the Netherlands. He came to Canada in 1953, to Beaverlodge, Alberta and moved to Richmond, B.C. in 1955.
He attended U.B.C., Toronto University, Waterloo University and the University of Warwick in England where he attained his Ph.D in Engineering. The other degrees he attained were a Master of Philosophy and MBA etc.
He is survived by his wife Hilary who he married in 1967, and daughters Siobhain and Crystal. He is also survived by his sister Cathy (John) and their four children, Kenneth, Lori Anne, Andrew and Peter.
He enjoyed his work at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops as a professor, teaching and doing research. He also found pleasure in swimming, dancing, flying his own plane, travelling, and hiking with his beloved dog Dana. His death was very sudden on January 27th, 2012 and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Kamloops Alliance Church on Friday, February 3rd, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Boss officiating.
