Isabella Whyte (Ella) McIntosh

Born In: Canada

Passed in: Canada

Isabella Whyte McIntosh (Ella) February 15, 1926 ~ November 19, 2006 Ella left us peacefully at the Royal Inland Hospital after a severe and sudden illness surrounded by her husband Alex and her five children, Alan, Ian, Ross, Jolene and Lynn. Ella was born in Aberdeen Scotland and met her husband Alex when they were both sixteen year old members of a drama group. The play was Quality Street and for Alex it was love at first sight but Ella needed more convincing. Their life together was indeed a Quality one. They immigrated to Canada in 1957 first to Edmonton and then came to Kamloops in 1963, where Alex took up a post at Tranquille School this was a very good time for them and they and the children lived happily on the grounds and enjoyed all that Tranquille had to offer. When Tranquille Closed in 1984 they moved to Pritchard but returned to Kamloops in 1996, but Ella remained an active member of the Pritchard TOPS group. Ella was very much a family person and she dearly loved her children and her seven grandchildren and was well loved in return. She was a very insightful person and had a great sense of humour as people at the Olympic Pool would testify. She and her friend Norma were called the happy ladies by the pool staff. She was very fit until quite recently, she went walking every day. There will be no formal service but a Memorial Tea will be held at the Fraternal Order Of Eagles, 755 Tranquille Road between 2 and 4 P.M. Friday, November 24th, 2006.
