B.L. \'BUD\' HORYCHUN

Born In: Canada

Passed in: Canada

HORYCHUN, B.L. 'BUD': With much sorrow, Bud's family announces his passing on Monday, November 20, 2006 at the age of 65. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 40 years, Elaine, daughter, Wendy, and son, Jason (Rosanne). He also leaves to cherish his memory, sisters; Mary (Ken), Helen (Ed), brother, Boris (Leona), in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who know that they were an important part of his life. His 34 year career with the Royal Bank started in 1960 in Craik, SK, and ended at the Sahali Branch (Kamloops) in April, 1994 with at least a dozen transfers. With the transfers came friendships and precious moments that have lasted all these years. His great joy and passion for the past twenty-some years was wine making. Many relatives and friends have enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He enjoyed making the wines from any fruit that someone would give him and would personalize each batch with special labels he made. He believed in community and as such belonged to the Kinsmen Club (Charter President in Fort St. James) in a few cities and later the Lions Club. As a member of the Brock Lions (Kamloops), he attended the International Convention in Minnesota in 1993; which was a highlight for him. Having a career in the financial field, he was the treasure of the Brock-Central Lions Club, many times winning awards for outstanding service. He also won the Lion of the Year, Presidents' choice, and Outstanding Service Award. He also joined the Keremeos Lions in September 2005 (becoming treasurer) where he and Elaine moved to retire in the area until cancer took him away from his loving family and many friends. The family would like to thank Dr's Partridge, Boshoff and Jeanes, as well as Home Care Nurses and support team for their loving and compassionate care. To ensure that many others may have a second chance at life, Bud has requested that in lieu of flowers, you sign up to become an organ donor. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 24, 2006 at the Similkameen Christian Fellowship Church, Hwy 3A, Keremeos, with Pastor Don Bodden officiating. Bud will be truly missed, but not forgotten.
