BOWES, RONALD “ RONNIE” A – Ronald “Ronnie” Austin Bowes of Golden Grove, NB, which occurred on Friday, February 03, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on September 27, 1924 in Saint John he was a son of the late Edwin and Elizabeth “Bessie” (Green) Bowes. Ronnie was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, a veteran of the Canadian Air Force and worked most of his life at the Mater Misericordiae Home on Waterloo Street. He loved history, literature and sports, had an amazing memory and could recite many poems by heart. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda MacDonald (Gerald) of New Glasgow, NS, and Neville Wissmann of French Village, NB; grandchildren, Christopher MacDonald (Jyl), Alana Cano (Ivan), Elke Bohdanowicz (Andrew) and John Wissmann (Julie); great-grandson, Thomas Bohdanowicz and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Allan, Richard “Dick”, John “Jack” and Edwin; one sister Irene.
By the request of the family there will be no visiting. A funeral will be held at a later date.
