RICHARD, IMELDA - 1916-2012 - Imelda Richard, 95 of Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of St-Norbert de Kent passed away at the Villa on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. She was married to the late Aldéric Richard. Born in St-Norbert de Kent on February 18, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Adolphe and the late Mélina (Melanson) Richard. She was adopted at the age of seven by Alexandre and Philomène Doucet of Notre-Dame de Kent. Imelda was involved with the church as sacristan for many years. She will be sadly missed by her six daughters; Dorilla (Eloi) Melanson of Cocagne, Anna (Armand) Boudreau of Moncton, Geneva (Francois) Babineau of Richiboucto Village, Rosemonde (Gérald) Caissie of Haute Aboujagane, Anne Marie (David Huntington) of Memramcook and Norma of Caraquet, her two sons; Normand (Florida) of Dieppe and Rhéal of Moncton, one brother Yvon (Régina) of Moncton, one brother-in-law Léonide (Len) Richard of Dieppe, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Imelda was predeceased by a daughter Fernande (1948), two sisters, Laudia and infant Maria and two brothers, Camille and Philippe.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 from 7 to 9 and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and from 5:30 to 6:15pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 6:30pm. Interment will be in the Roman Catholic cemetery in St-Norbert in the spring. In Imelda's memory donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
