Irene Earle, age 84, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
Born in Chance Harbour, NB, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Toner) Belding.
Irene was an active member of the First Baptist Church, being a longtime member of the Mother's Association. She worked at Pridham's Book Store for many years, retiring in 1991. She loved bowling, darts, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Sharon (Tom) Jury, Warren, David (Sharlene), Amherst, Marilyn (Oliver Burr) Porter, Truro, Lois (Frank) O'Blenis, Brookdale; 8 grandchildren, Chris, Marney, Jessica, Timothy, Jason, Justin, Daniel, and Lori; 1 great granddaughter Kiera; siblings, Larry (Marion), Chance Harbour, NB, Garnet (Pat), Chance Harbour, NB, Alda Belding, Saint John, NB, Inez Mawhinney, Hampton, NB.
She was predeceased by her husband Everett; infant granddaughter Katrina; siblings Clyde, Darrell, and Doreen Anderson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 2 pm, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Burial will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
