DAMER, WARREN RANDALL
September 1, 1926 - December 4, 2009

Warren passed away early in the morning of December 4th after a valiant 9 year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife of 55 years Enid, his daughter Susan, sons Bruce (Galen), Eric (Laurie) and granddaughter Miranda, as well as his cousins the Stewart-Smith family of Kamloops, the Stewart family of Montreal and his brother Larry of Comox B.C.

Warren was born in Winnipeg, finished his schooling in Vancouver and attended UBC and the Vancouver Normal School. He was a devoted teacher, beginning with elementary school students in Burnaby. He moved on to junior and senior grades in Victoria and he worked as a driving instructor and taught at Okalla Prison. Later he taught junior and senior high school students in Kamloops and tutored at Cariboo College. His first love was the English language; he was a vociferous reader of everything from Chaucer and Shakespeare, to science fiction, to the "do-it-yourself " instruction manuals which he put to good use in many projects. He loved music, walking in the hills, and fly-fishing.

A celebration of Warren's life will be held at Personal Alternative Funeral Services, at 177 Tranquille Road on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
